Past support
In 2019/20 the programme supported and offered 3 open call live commissions (including Belle Chen’s Destinations, Jasmin Kent Rodgman’s TRIPTYCH and Daniel Phung’s Blowin’ in the Wind, 1 invited live commission (Jo Fong’s Ways of Being Together1 invited exhibition commission (Chloe Wing’s Walls an artist-curated programme for CAN Festival 2020 (Queering Now with Whiskey Chow and Sha Li) and 3 scratch works at Jacksons Lane and Soho Theatre. CAN supported programmed artists and companies in successful ACE funding bids for over £66,000 and supported programmed artists and companies in successful funding bids from trusts and foundations and other sources for over £17,000. During that year 10 professional and skills development workshops were run for 186 participants (including partnerships with Soho Theatre, the Royal Opera House, and VanThanh Productions amongst others. 8 residencies in CAN’s office (including Alissa Anne Jeun Yi, Cheng Yu, Little Bean Theatre, Mingyu Lin, Papergang Theatre and CAN Supported, mentored and employed 2 CAN Festival Assistant Producers in addition to providingmmentoring/ support sessions to artists and companies.
